Version description of the v5.6.0 release of SlideRule Earth.

Significant Changes¶

v5.6.0 - 4c932c1 - The SlideRule MCP server has been removed.
v5.6.0 - #658 - Rasters are now sampled at the coordinate epoch of the point (fixes #645). Previously, when the point CRS was dynamic (ITRF2014/ITRF2020) and the raster CRS was static (e.g. 3DEP in NAD83(2011)), the transformation was evaluated at the 2010.0 reference epoch, resulting in a horizontal offset of ~0.25 m for 2024 data (growing ~2 cm/yr) along with a small vertical offset. Sampled values for these rasters will change.
v5.6.0 - #656 - deriv.aspect is now returned as a compass azimuth of the downslope direction (clockwise from north, in [0, 360)), following the gdaldem default convention. Flat cells now return NaN instead of 0.
v5.6.0 - #657 - Fixed the slope kernel normalization in computeSlopeAspect; for kernel half-widths greater than 1 (e.g. slope_scale_length larger than the native resolution), slopes were previously underestimated. The native 3x3 result is unchanged.
v5.6.1 - 265e041 - ATL24 granule discovery switched to CMR.

New Functionality¶

v5.6.0 - 76be69c - New SlideRule command line tools package (clients/cli), starting with the sliderule-runner tool for submitting and monitoring jobs (with subcommands, reporting, and a scrape command). Subsequent releases add sliderule-provisioner ff7b327, sliderule-cluster 8c96589, and the recorder usage report 5ebd71f.
v5.6.0 - 21cb600 - Added prioritization in job queues and different job definitions for the job runner.
v5.6.0 - f72bcc4 - Added PPD/POD degrade filtering to the bathy dataframe; an alert is generated when degraded data is encountered ae8cdf6.
v5.6.0 - cfc87a8 - Dataframe error checking before export, and duplication checking when receiving dataframes to catch retried granules.
v5.6.1 - 94a688e - Raster sampling is performed at the granule level instead of the beam level, resulting in a ~2x speedup.

Issues Resolved¶

v5.6.0 - #655 - integral floats (e.g. 40.0) are now accepted for integer parameters; previously they were rejected and silently replaced with the default value
v5.6.0 - 68f7176 - the point time is carried as GPS milliseconds on every sampling path so that use_poi_time correctly selects the closest raster in time
